Few destinations in Bali leave an impression like Nusa Dua. A relatively secluded side of the island where every visit still feels like the holidays of old. Rejuvenating—and in moments, quiet. Here, you don't feel any rush to be someplace else.
It's nowhere as busy as Seminyak nor as lively as Ubud, but it's remarkable in its way. Primarily, Nusa Dua is home to a bunch of high-end resorts including a pair of five-star hotels and another pair of apartment-style premium resorts by Marriott.
One of those properties is Nusa Dua Terrace, which opened its doors in 2022. This hillside resort belongs to the Marriott Vacation Club portfolio, an industry leader in timeshare resort destinations worldwide.
But does it live up to the hype? Here's what we found during our stay at one of Nusa Dua Terrace's two-bedroom apartments.

Marriott Nusa Dua Terrace Resort Overview
Among the first things you'll notice in the resort is that it offers a lot of greens and plenty of space.
It's really, really spacious. In fact, it never occurred to us there are about 88 apartment units in the area!
Imagine having the comfort of a private residence and community, while also thoroughly enjoying the sights and sounds of an island getaway. That's how it felt the entire time! It's the reason we tend to agree that resort-style accommodations are simply the best choice for vacationing families—especially those with kids!
Two Bedroom Apartment Review

The apartment itself looks and feels like a luxury hotel accommodation.
Except you get more than just a room or two. For starters, there's a fully equipped kitchen and a private laundry awaiting the guests. And those are just two amenities. There's more around the resort, and still more shared with Marriott's adjacent five-star hotel. More on that later!
Full kitchen Amenities and Laundry
As you can imagine, exclusive laundry access during a tropical vacation brings immense convenience and peace of mind. It essentially means no one gets left behind. You get to move at your own pace for most of the time, and it helps you save some energy for the moments that count.
Another factor that made our trip extra convenient is our TernX carry on luggage stroller. We were able to pack light and bring a stroller with us, which made us more agile.
There is also much to love about having a full kitchen. You can put together a snack late in the night or be creative with meals during the day. That also means you get to cut your expenses if someone is eager enough to take on kitchen duties.
Apartment amenities include a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, refrigerator, in-unit washer and dryer, and some baby/toddler items (e.g., cribs, highchairs) available upon request. Lest we forget, you'll also definitely get a tea/coffee maker.
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the resort.
Family-Friendly Accommodation
Kids are often iffy in hotel rooms because there's not enough room for them to play. As such, apartment-style resorts are favoured even by parents because it makes their job so much easier.
In our flat, we had the lounge in the middle of the living area with plenty of surface around it. The kitchen sat on the far end of the room, which made it easy to switch tasks. Having said that, there's still plenty of room to just go about one's business.
Both of the bedrooms are also generously configured. Plus, it's quite relaxing to see natural lighting bring more life into the place, more so as it illuminates the local-inspired, but largely modern apartment interior.
In case you're wondering, the largest room you can book at Marriott’s Bali Nusa Dua Terrace is the 3-Bedroom Dual Entry Apartment. This flat can host a maximum occupancy of 10.
Balcony Access to a Private Pool
Marriott's Bali Nusa Dua Terrace is quite known for its balcony apartments. When we say tranquil retreat, the balcony is one of those quiet places where you can simply take in the surroundings and enjoy some overlooking view of the resort or parts of the island. There's also convenient access from the balcony to the private pool.
Nusa Dua vacation apartments each come with private plunge pools. It's a great way to enjoy the atmosphere and tropical weather without taking the kids to the beach or committing to a long trek.
Marriott Nusa Dua Terrace Facilities
The adjacent five-star Rennaissance Hotel also shares some key facilities with Bali Nusa Dua resort. These include a fitness center with treadmills, a full-service SPA at Renaissance, food and beverage outlets, and four outdoor swimming pools.

For kids, Terrace shares the Lava Land Kids Club with the adjacent Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua. This space has several family-friendly pools, and one main pool for children. But don't just limit yourself to the pools! Don't forget that the pristine beaches of Bali are waiting in the wings.
You can take a free shuttle from the resort that will bring you to the Nusa Dua beach and Bali Collection, the island's premier shopping mall.

Tips on Exploring Nusa Dua with Kids
Check-in is notably later than what some of us might be accustomed to, as it starts at 4:00pm. Check-out times start at 10:00am, so do make plans accordingly. Overall, we didn't have many issues traveling with kids in and around Bali.
Nuse Dua Terrace is just 20 minutes or 14 km away from the nearest airport, which is Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport - Bali (DPS). Hence, you'll likely have a smooth transition in and out of the resort. Kids might also enjoy the view along the way, so it's quite handy to have them awake during the ride so that they can build their excitement on their way to the resort.
Another thing you'll appreciate is that there are plenty of dining options within the resort, including those that offer a kid's menu. Some authentic Indonesian cuisine also has some modern twist, so even adults can be a little adventuruous with their palette.
Overall, Marriott Nusa Dua Terrace is one of the best family-friendly resorts we've visited in Asia, and certainly one we'll recommend when in Bali. If you're new to the concept of timeshare accommodations, get started with our list of the world's best vacation clubs!
