Hilton Hotels are known for their exceptional facilities and endearing service, and Hilton Zhongshan Downtown clearly upholds that front. It's one of the most scenic downtown hotels we've visited and much of that is creditable to its stunning architecture.
For us though, one of our likings about Hilton is that every hotel is an embodiment of its local culture and communities. Hence, an entirely fresh and luxurious experience awaits guests each time. But does it also ring true for Hilton Zhongshan Downtown or is it lip service?

Review of 1 King Bed Executive Room with Lounge Access
Our stay at Zhongshan was greeted with a nice surprise from Hilton as our elected King Bed Hilton Deluxe room was swiftly upgraded to King Bed Executive Room with Lounge Access. We should note that our diamond membership definitely plays a part in that but it's a nice gesture nonetheless.
You never say no to a bigger room at Hilton cause aside from additional space it usually comes with better skyline views. Though lounge access has to be the caveat if you don't already have that through your membership tier.
For Zhongshan, bedding is as comfortable as it gets, and perhaps that's because the king bed is also the room's centerpiece, which works exceptionally well here because it leads to more space elsewhere in the room.
In particular, the bathroom is afforded a lot of extra real estate that allows for a Jacuzzi and a separate rain shower. You are also treated to a stunning view of Zhongshan city as you wind down and revitalise. How cool is that?
Lounge Area
The spacious guest rooms boast a corner lounge by the window. It's a superb setting if you want to slow things down at any point of the day. And don't you worry since the black-out curtain makes way for an easy retreat whenever necessary.
Working Area
The working area is one of the best ones even amongst Hilton Hotels, and the round table adds a nice touch because it makes the section seemingly more compact and contained. There's also an adjustable lamp in the workstation should you find yourself working late or behind the curtains.
Jacuzzi Area
The Jacuzzi area is just lovely and expertly crafted. You don't normally lookout for a bath as spacious as this but you'll be left in awe on how comfortable it all looks and feels, including the powder room and its surrounding area.

Hilton Zhongshan Downtown offers a range of on-site amenities fit for a luxurious holiday including banquet facilities, valet parking, an indoor pool, tennis court, luxury onsite spa, steam room and a 24-hour fitness center. But aside from that it's strategically located at the heart of the Zhongshan business district.
Conveniently Located
Hilton Zhongshan Downtown, located near the city center, is the perfect spot for foreign guests to not only rest and recharge, but also explore the city.
Zhongshan is littered with its fair share of world-class restaurants, local landmarks and panoramic views. It'll be a waste to not take a peak downtown and visit many small local shops that are within walking distance.
Similarly, we had a wonderful experience staying at Hilton Osaka on a day trip due to its central location and proximity to the city's shopping district.
Connected to Lihe Plaza
Hilton's Zhongshan hotel is connected to the Lihe Plaza shopping centre, which is then a two-minute walk from the Guzhen train station. So, if you want to take a detour to the commercial district in Guzhen Town for more shopping, it's a short trip!
There are plenty of interesting shops and food stalls in Lihe Plaza including Baoshifu that sells some really unique pastries like a seaweed pastry, durian puffs and taro egg tarts. There are also milk tea and skewer stalls at night just outside the plaza and the hotel premises. Just a little detail that might come in handy during your stay.
Standard Amenities
There's an impressive list of amenities available to guests but we we're able to make the most out of the fitness centre and indoor pool during our stay.
Fitness Centre – The 24-hour fitness centre is a welcome sight particularly if working out and yoga is a big part of your routine.
Pool – The family can unwind in the heated indoor pool or the kiddy-friendly side pools respectively. There is also a spa available for luxury retreat.
Executive Lounge
The executive lounge and breakfast were equally magnificent and the views at the 51st floor gives this executive lounge a more distinct appeal than other Hilton hotels.
Sip a Drink and Enjoy Panoramic City Views on the 59th Floor
The Horizon lounge bar on the 59th floor is essentially the highest floor you can go and it offers a magnificent view of the Zhongshan cityscape. Parents will also love that the bar is open up until 1 am and serves an extensive extensive cocktail and beverage list featuring local and international favourites.
Why Choose Hilton Zhongshan Downtown?
Hilton Zhongshan Downtown's prime location is just 1-hour and 15-minute car ride away from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, a 15-minute drive from Zhongshan Express Train Station and sub 40-minute drive from Zhan Park and Wugui Mountain.
Logistically, it's one of the best places to stay in Zhongshan as its right within the city's dedicated business center.
But one of the deciding factors for us is certainly the hotel's limited offer which allows children between the ages of 0 to 17 to stay free of charge.
Depending on your Hilton's membership tier or booking discount, breakfast buffet may also be included in the package.
